ZF BESS Sp. z o.o. [ib vogt group] secures NFOŚiGW grant for the BESS Płoskie energy storage project

We are pleased to announce that the BESS Płoskie battery energy storage project, developed by the Polish company ZF BESS Sp. z o.o., a member of the ib vogt Group, has been awarded funding for the implementation of the investment entitled “Construction of the BESS PŁOSKIE Energy Storage Facility” in the form of a grant from the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW), financed from the Modernisation Fund resources.

The project was selected for co-financing under the Energy Storage Facilities and Related Infrastructure for Improving the Stability of the Polish Power Grid Program.

As part of the granted support, the project is eligible to receive up to PLN 54,384,210.83 in funding for its implementation. This is an important step for us towards further expanding advanced energy storage technologies and strengthening the stability of Poland’s national power system.

Supporting the energy transition and system security

Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) play an increasingly vital role in building a resilient and secure energy system. They enable, among others:

  • stabilisation of the power grid,
  • improved energy balancing,
  • increased integration of renewable energy sources,
  • enhanced energy security.

The obtained funding, together with additional support through market mechanisms (including the capacity market), allows us to continue project development with strong momentum and brings us closer to the delivery phase of this investment.

Acknowledgements and next steps

We would like to congratulate the entire ib vogt Central and Eastern Europe team for their consistency, dedication, and professionalism, which made it possible to secure support for this project.

We also thank all advisors, partners, and stakeholders for their cooperation, trust, and shared commitment to developing solutions that support Poland’s clean energy transition.

We are proud of what we are building and highly motivated as we move forward with the next stages of the project.

This marks another step towards a modern, stable, and low-emission energy sector in Poland.
