Infinity 50, Egypt, 2018

The 64.1 MWp project is Egypt's first large-scale photovoltaic power plant and part of a 1.86 GWp solar power complex. Located 650 kilometres south of Cairo, near the village of Benban in the desert, the plant consists of almost 200,000 photovoltaic modules spread over an area of 95.4 hectares. By using a single axis solar tracking system, up to 148,000 MWh of electricity per year are produced, enough for about 20,000 Egyptian households. Over a period of 25 years, in which the state-owned grid operator company is supplied, 1.6 million tons of CO2 will be saved.

The project obtained financing from Bayerische Landesbank (BLB) for 85% of the debt, with the remaining 15% coming from Arab African International Bank (AAIB). The German government has provided an Euler Hermes export credit guarantee (ECG), covering the BLB loan.

Williamsdale, Australia, 2016

The 11.1 MWp solar power plant at Williamsdale was the first project ever built in Australia by ib vogt GmbH. With 36,000 installed crystalline PV modules it marks a successful entry into a new and growing market. We take pride in helping our clients to meet their economic and ecologic goals, using a single axis tracking system to keep the modules facing the sun throughout the day. Since it was energized on 25th November 2016 the plant provides electricity for up to 3400 households. Located in the Australian Capital Territory the Williamsdale Solar Farm will add considerably to the ACT Government’s efforts to replace carbon based energy generation with 100% renewable forms of generation by 2020. In the course of its 25 years lifetime it will prevent about 450,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions. 

The project was constructed for an infrastructure company owned by Impact Investment Group and has been handed over to the Solar Income Fund, which is managed by the Group.
