ib vogt GmbH and its subsidiary vogt solar Ltd. commission 8 solar farms totalling 132.4 MWp in the United Kingdom in the first quarter of 2015
Berlin/ Newhaven/ London, 15/04/2015 ib vogt GmbH and its subsidiary vogt solar ltd commissioned eight solar farms with a total capacity of 132.4 MWp in the first quarter of 2015 in the United Kingdom. All the solar farms were connected on time for the UK “1.4” ROC policy incentive deadline for ground mounted solar systems. All the projects have been purchased by institutional investors.
The solar farms are forecast to generate over 133 GWh per annum of renewable electricity in total, enough to power the equivalent of more than 32,000 average homes and to save over 1.65 million tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) over their 25-year lifetime. The sites, all highly optimised and incorporating state-of-the-art technology and top quality engineering and components, are as follows:
• Pashley in Sussex: 11.6 MWp
• Crundale extension in Pembrokeshire: 5.9 MWp
• Port Farm in Sussex: 34.7 MWp
• Molehill in Kent: 18.0 MWp
• Horam in Sussex: 8.1 MWp
• Castle Combe in Wiltshire: 15.3 MWp
• Gloucester in Gloucestershire: 28.3 MWp
• Wrockwardine in Telford and Wrekin: 10.5 MWp
The range of activities undertaken by the company includes the project development and permitting, design and EPC, Operations & Maintenance as well as the construction financing and marketing of the projects.
Since 2011, ib vogt and vogt solar have completed 27 solar farms in the UK with a total capacity of over 330 MWp, of which 196 MWp were constructed and commissioned under 1.4 ROCs. All projects have been built to a very high standard and commissioned on time and budget. In the UK, the company carries out operation and maintenance activities for over 250 MWp.
